Less Stress in 2013
Posted in Books, Exercise, Fitness, Food, General, Health, NutritionLess stress would mean better quality life. We can not get rid of all the things that cause stress, but we can learn to better manage it. Exercise, eating better, ie: reducing the intake of sugar and caffeine, and adding an adaptogen when pertinent. “Adaptogens are remarkable natural substances that help the body adapt to stress, support normal metabolic functions, and help restore balance. They help increase the body’s resistance to physical, biological, emotional, and environmental stressors and provide a defense response to acute or chronic stress. They are unique from other substances in their ability to restore the balance of endocrine hormones, modulate the immune system, and allow the body to maintain optimal homeostasis.” (ADAPTOGENS by David Winston and Steven Maimes). That is a summary in part of the value of what natural herbal medicine can contribute to health. You certainly would benefit from doing more research through reputable sources. I have said this many times, an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. Let’s make this year a toast to good health by making good choices. More on adaptogens to follow.
