Are you children active?

One of my specialties is working with preschool age children. I created a program I call “Super Sport Day”, check out my web page if you want to know more about it. I’m very passionate about getting children introduced and excited about exercise and nutrition. In our sedentary society, technology has captured the youngest children and it is one of the reasons for the decline in children being active.

The obesity rates for children have increased greatly as activity in and out of school has decreased. Childhood obesity is very real as well as type 2 diabetes in children. What are the long term effects of childhood obesity and how will this disease affect the future and the generations to come? This is a topic that should be looked at with sobriety. I know that every parent wants to offer a better life for their children than they have. So if you and your child are struggling, please don’t just throw in the towel and say “it’s our genetics and there is nothing that we can do”. I’m not saying it will be easy but there are solutions and the earlier you start the better.

Did you know that dopamine, a neurotransmitter, tells your brain moving brings pleasure and accomplishment bring pleasure is benefited by exercise. Exercising can be so rewarding for immediate satisfaction as well as long term benefits. How much time is there in your life for movement that creates a training effect, gets the cardiorespiratory system awake and makes that hormone, dopamine,  do its job of making you happy.

Are your children getting enough physical activity? Do you want to make some changes but don’t know where to start?
