More about Adaptogens

Posted in Books, Fitness, General, Health, Nutrition

I hope you will enjoy this information I am sharing again from “Adaptogens, Herbs for Strength, Stamina, and Stress Relief: by David Winston and Steven Maimes”.  I myself am not an expert on the subject but have taken advantage of others expertise over many years and have had great results.  I certainly  am not prescribing, but offering an overview of information to help you make an informed decision as I think you are able to add quality to your life by making healthy choices.  Adaptogens can be called by common names or their Latin botanical names.  To the untrained ear, we might not know one from another, again having a good health food store or naturopath to help is invaluable.  I can’t list them all here but they have been used for thousands of years in some cultures, so they are tried and true in both safety and efficacy.  Remember this is not a claim that adaptogens can cure all your ills, but I hope it makes you curious enough to do some investigation. I plan to share about adaptogens for the month of January, so keep checking in.

“Darla is a great trainer and fitness coach. When I first became a client, I was recovering from a shoulder injury. She made sure my routine was appropriate and continued to coach me to greater levels of stamina and strength. And, the cool thing is that she truly cares about what I want to accomplish. Now four years later, my doctor informed me that my “age markers” were those of someone 20 years younger than my chronological age.”
