When you don’t feel like it…

Posted in Exercise, Fitness, Health

When you don’t feel like it, you still brush your teeth.. I heard someone say, only floss the teeth you want to keep! I will say the same discipline for working out is just as important. There are so many different types of workouts you could do. I have said many times that the one you enjoy is the what will most likely keep you motivated to stick with it. I am repeating myself from other blogs when I say “you are either talking yourself into something or talking yourself out of something.” Even if you get on the treadmill and do a warmup then run for a mile, think of how good you will feel about yourself if you get it done vs. how negative you feel if you don’t get yourself to do anything. Make sure you have some ideas for a workout with what you have and where you are. Like if all you have in your home are stairs….put together a little circuit go up and down a few times, then maybe two stairs at a time a few times, then some alternating lunges onto the bottom stair, then some tricep dips…that is a start. Those are just a few suggestions. Then there is the work place, I have lots of ideas for that atmosphere. The benefit of having a personal trainer, we help you get rid of excuses and get moving. So no excuses, there is always something you can do. Short and sweet is better than nothing at all. Start today and keep it going!

“Darla is a great trainer and fitness coach. When I first became a client, I was recovering from a shoulder injury. She made sure my routine was appropriate and continued to coach me to greater levels of stamina and strength. And, the cool thing is that she truly cares about what I want to accomplish. Now four years later, my doctor informed me that my “age markers” were those of someone 20 years younger than my chronological age.”
